In case you didn't know, each year PYA holds a Dinner Dance as its major fund raising effort. This year's Dinner Dance will be held a the North Hempstead Country Club on Friday June 18th so please mark your calendars and save the date. Invitations will go out as we get closer to the event.
The success of the annual dinner dance event has allowed PYA to put together great winter, spring, summer and fall programs. Pretty soon you will see Lion's Field at its best ready for another baseball, softball and lacrosse season providing sports opportunities for thousands of children. Those of you who have played at other towns or have been on travel teams know PYA fields are the envy of every other town that visits. Many of you may not know PYA is a not for profit organization (Section 501(c)(3)) and receives no regular taxpayer generated funds. PYA funding is self-generated with money raised through application fees and fund raising events. You may also not know that PYA provides over 100 scholarships every year to boys and girls whose families are unable to pay the application fees. The annual dinner dance allows PYA to provide the best sports programs for our children - teaching teamwork, sportsmanship and community service in addition to learning how to play the game.
As part of the Dinner Dance, PYA produces a souvenir Journal for businesses and families. As a business it's a great way to support PYA while at the same time getting the word out about your business. For families it's a fun way to support PYA and thank the many volunteers for their service.
Please support PYA by taking a business ad and/or family ad and help preserve the great things PYA does and the beautiful fields that have become such a part of our children's lives. If you don't have a business please consider passing this e-mail to someone who does.
Attached is a Journal Ad Form - please print it out, complete the section describing your ad artwork (you may attach a business card), enclose a check and mail it to PYA at the address on the Form.
In addition, as part of the dinner dance we have a number of sponsorship opportunities such as the cocktail hour, DJ, invitations, flowers and more. Acknowledgement of your donation will be diaplayed at the dance.
