pyalogosm.2Mission Statement

Port Washington Youth Activities (PYA) is a Better Business Bureau accredited 501(c)(3) not-for-profit organization that offers organized athletic development for local children of Port Washington and the surrounding communities primarily from Kindergarten to 7th grade.  PYA teaches teamwork and individual responsibility in an atmosphere of respect and sportsmanship.  While PYA places emphasis on the development of sports skills, our primary mission is to develop character and understanding of how participation in sporting events can prepare one for success in all endeavors.

We work through the generous contributions of people like you.  Without the generosity of our community, PYA would be unable to provide its services.  What many people do not realize is that the relatively modest fees that PYA charges for participation in our programs DO NOT cover the expenses of providing the programs, the uniforms, the trophies, the gyms, and the fields that are required to make the PYA experience one of the most respected on Long Island. PYA never turns down any child based on financial need and each year gives out thousands of dollars in scholarships. We need help from you to keep PYA working for the community, and we thrive only due to your continued generosity.  Please consider making a tax-deductible donation to help us help your children.  Remember, at PYA it's all about the kids

PYA thanks All Access Sports, a not for profit organization in Port Washington, www.aaspw.org, for it's establishment of a fund to purchase sports equipment for PYA players who are unable to buy the equipment on their own due to financial difficulties. Please see Ronnie Henderson for more information.
